Missouri Hit $15 an Hour on January 1. The Risk to Jobs Is Real
Welcome to this week’s Missouri conservative weekly roundup, where we track the policy and political developments shaping the Show-Me State.

AMERICA 250
The celebration of our Nation’s 250th birthday is OFFICIALLY HERE.
Happy 2026!
The next chapter of our American story starts now.

250 years of rising, remembering, and turning toward one another to embrace our part in history.
As we begin this once-in-a-generation year, take a moment to reflect on who we are—and who we want to be. Happy 2026. Happy… pic.twitter.com/fUj2twHZDB
We should all be grateful that we have a President who loves America leading this celebration!

THE MINIMUM WAGE
On New Year’s Day, Missouri’s minimum wage officially hit $15/hour.
That doesn’t bode well for the state’s job market.
Past $15 minimum wage hikes led to hundreds of thousands of jobs lost. #MOLeg #MOGov

To increase take-home pay for the Missourians who need it most, we should be focused on eliminating income taxes, NOT another minimum wage hike.

HIRING ILLEGAL ALIENS
Too often, bad actors in Missouri gain a competitive advantage by hiring illegal aliens.
That’s gotta stop this session.
A #Missouri lawmaker has prefiled a bill aimed at ending the unfair competitive advantage enjoyed by “rogue companies” that ignore the state’s labor laws by hiring #illegal aliens.#moleg #Immigrants https://t.co/RlznId0uHU
