  • Liberty Alliance USA Files Ethics Complaint Against Senate Candidate Lucas Kunce For Violating Federal Law

    June 6, 2023

(JEFFERSON CITY, MO)— Today, Liberty Alliance USA announces it filed a complaint with The U.S. Senate Select Committee on Ethics against Missouri Democrat Senate Candidate Lucas Kunce for his failure to properly disclose and file his personal financial disclosures according to federal law.

Liberty Alliance USA has discovered that perennial U.S. Senate Candidate Lucas Kunce failed to disclose reportable assets on the 2021 personal financial disclosure form, failed to file a 2022 personal financial disclosure form, and failed a timely request for extension for the 2023 personal financial disclosure form. This is in clear violation of both Senate ethics and federal law.

There is a clear pattern of disrespect and disregard for Senate Ethics and for the rule of law by Lucas Kunce. Missourians hold transparency with deep respect, afterall, we are the Show-Me State.

Liberty Alliance USA is calling on the Senate Ethics Committee to immediately investigate these allegations, and fulfill its statutory duty to refer the matter to the Attorney General to seek the mandatory civil penalties laid out in the law.

“Lucas Kunce has made it clear that he does not respect the ethics laws that the Congress has passed. This is an extremely troubling position for a U.S. Senate candidate to take,” said Liberty Alliance Executive Director Spencer Bone. “Kunce lied on his personal financial disclosure from 2021, and then flat-out refused to file in 2022. Kunce has broken the public’s trust, and we look forward to a full investigation by the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Ethics, and subsequent enforcement by Attorney General Merrick Garland.”
