Blue Shield Success
From the day that Mike Kehoe entered office, Missouri has prioritized public safety.
Now that Governor Kehoe has signed the budget into law, we’ve got another victory to celebrate.
Through an Executive Order on his first day in office, Governor Kehoe created the Blue Shield Program to reward local jurisdictions that prioritize law enforcement and public safety.
A Blue Shield designation allows the jurisdiction to access state grants for law enforcement training and equipment.

The program has been a huge success.
Over 200 localities have joined the program.
That’s over 200 localities sending a clear message that they stand with the police.
Over 200 localities that prioritize public safety.
Now that the budget has been signed, over 200 localities will be rewarded with grants for law enforcement training and equipment.
The Blue Shield Program shows the difference that leadership makes.
From day one, Governor Kehoe made clear that his top priority was public safety.
Governor Kehoe created the Blue Shield Program as a blueprint for how he wanted the localities to participate.
Now, those localities are being rewarded.
We’re all safer because of it.
There was no bluster.
No attacks.
Just a plan of action and a carrot at the end of the stick.
This is what leadership looks like.
