No, 16-year-olds should not vote.
The United Kingdom just lowered its voting age to 16.
It’s a terrible idea, cynically pushed by the Labour Party leaders who think it will benefit them politically.
But be warned, Liberal foundations are trying to lower the voting age in the United States and in Missouri.
The largest campaign pushing the idea is Vote16USA.
Vote16USA and its parent organization Generation Citizen claim to be nonpartisan.
Their funding sources tell a different story:
These Soros-funded operatives are targeting Missouri.
If this all sounds familiar, it should.
Rigged-choice voting activists came to Missouri and immediately targeted Left-wing localities.
The strategy was the same for non-citizen voting.
They thought that if they could legalize non-citizen voting at the local level, voters will get used to it and be more likely to accept it at the state level. Then they’d go national.
So what does it look like in Missouri?
There is an active campaign to lower the voting age in Kansas City.
Their argument is the same as the argument used to defend non-citizen voting.
To them (and some state courts), a constitutional provision granting the vote to those 18 and over sets a minimum for voting access. In their world, nothing stops a local government from giving the vote to those under 18.
This is why we passed Amendment 7. The Missouri Constitution now says “only” citizens are entitled to vote.
For now, the Kansas City municipal staff has rejected their argument.
It would only take a new mayoral administration or office turnover for that to change.
And that’s just Kansas City.
Can we count on St. Louis or Springfield to oppose this nonsense?
