  • Wealthy celebrities help release violent criminals

    August 19, 2020

In the midst of the George Floyd protests, bail fund “charities” spiked in popularity, receiving donations from well-known celebrities like Chrissy Teigen and Justin Timberlake. They were joined by political figures like Socialist Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, failed presidential candidate and Joe Biden’s VP-pick Kamala Harris, and at least thirteen high-profile members of Joe Biden’s presidential campaign team. These bail funds, which claim to use donations to bail “peaceful protesters” out of jail, have been used to release violent criminals back onto our streets.

Here are five dangerous criminals that bail funds have paid to release:

    1. Shawn McClinton, a repeat sex-offender and rapist

The Massachusetts Bail Fund posted $15,000 in bail for Shawn McClinton, who had been held on bail for two years after allegedly raping a woman in a fast food restaurant bathroom. After the Massachusetts Bail Fund sponsored McClinton’s release back into society, he offended again; according to police, McClinton violently assaulted and raped yet another woman, this time at knifepoint. McClinton is now held on $500,000 bail, but who knows how long it will take before the Massachusetts Bail Fund strikes again.

    2. Darnika Floyd, who stabbed a friend to death

The Minnesota Freedom Fund, which was directly promoted by Kamala Harris via Twitter in June, bailed out Darnika Floyd, who was charged with second-degree murder after allegedly brutally stabbing her friend to death for refusing sex. The fund posted a whopping $100,000 in bail to free Floyd, who has been held since 2018. Not only did the fund free Floyd without facing consequences, it also offended her victim’s family in the worst way: allowing their loved one’s killer to walk free.

    3. Christopher Stewart, a four-time felon and habitual criminal

The Bail Project, a national bail fund that has received over $15 million in donations since George Floyd’s death, posted $5,000 to release Christopher Stewart from Cook County Jail in Illinois. Stewart, a four-time felon who had even attempted to murder an ex-girlfriend by setting fire to her apartment, had been arrested for illegally carrying a handgun. As if Stewart’s threat to society wasn’t clear enough, his girlfriend took out an order of protection against him after he threatened to kill her, firing shots at her son’s sixth birthday party. It is clear The Bail Project doesn’t value Stewart’s victims, allowing him to walk the streets and threaten their safety once again.

    4. Jaleel Stallings, who was accused of firing shots at law enforcement

The Minnesota Freedom Fund could be considered a repeat offender itself, making our list once again after posting $75,000 to release 27-year-old Jaleel Stallings from jail after he shot at police during a riot in May. Charged with two counts of attempted second-degree murder and two accounts of first-degree assault, among other charges, Stallings didn’t spend long locked up after the Minnesota Freedom Fund came to his rescue. Apparently the fund sides with the Left and has no respect for the safety of our law enforcement officers.

    5. Christopher Boswell, charged with sexual assault and kidnapping

Christopher Boswell, a Minneapolis resident, was twice convicted of rape and faced up to ten felony charges when- you guessed it- the Minneapolis Freedom Fund stepped in and posted his $350,000 bail. In his most recent offense, law enforcement officers found a naked woman wrapped in a blanket crying on Boswell’s front porch. She told officers that Boswell had kidnapped and assaulted her, even using a gun to force her into his car. This woman, as well as Boswell’s previous victims, some of whom were as young as 17, must now live in fear of their attacker thanks to the Minnesota Freedom Fund.

These Liberal bail funds have no respect for public safety. Greg Lewin, the interim executive director of the Minnesota Freedom Fund, has even admitted to ignoring the charges of the individuals his group bails out of jail. It seems as though the far-Left won’t let up until all violent criminals walk free, endangering our communities and way of life.
